Hudson View Terrace Primary Bathroom
Type Of Project: Primary Bathroom Remodel
Size: 9’ x 8’ / 72 Square Feet
About The Project:
This client reached out to us because they needed help. They knew their primary bathroom needed updating, but they weren’t sure where to begin. In fact, they had previously tried to renovate this space, but never went through with the project, due to feeling overwhelmed by the process. However, their bathroom clearly needed attention.
A broken sink needed replacement and there were some age-in-place concerns that needed to be addressed. While this project wasn’t a complete overhaul, as they chose to keep the existing tub and shower, our task was to transform the space to fulfil their storage needs and age-in-place requirements.
Our Favorite Part:
Since this wasn't a complete renovation, we inherited the existing green accent tile in the shower. This turned out to be a non-issue, as we selected a green sage tile with varying tones to marry the two areas. Now this entire back wall is a showstopper with a multi-dimensional green tile that truly stands out. The original shower needed some modifications, so we incorporated a slide bar with a handheld shower head for easier access. Safety grab bars were installed, along with a fold-down teak seat that not only adds elegance but also offers the flexibility to sit or fold up for more floor space—providing options for everyone! Additional grab bars were placed near the ADA toilet, and a pocket door optimizes the available floor space.
A crisp white vanity with a sink serves as the centerpiece of the space. Recessed medicine cabinets come equipped with magnifying mirrors and hidden electrical outlets. No more cluttered counters with toothbrush chargers—everything has its designated spot. The floor features a hexagon tile with green flecks, which we absolutely love—"It's giving" a terrazzo vibe! As a bonus, heated floors ensure your feet stay warm.
Again, the real highlight of this bathroom is the exquisite wall of tile. This tonal sage green tile beautifully complements the color from the shower, while the brushed gold light fixtures add a warm and inviting glow to the space. I particularly appreciate how the brushed gold light fixtures glow from the inside. This bathroom thoughtfully considers aging in place without compromising on style, proving that functionality and beauty can coexist seamlessly.
